President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, have congratulated renowned hip-hop artistes, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, a
.k.a Wizkid, and David Adedeji Adeleke, a.k.a Davido, for emerging winners at the 2017 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.

In a statement issued on Friday by his media adviser, Femi Adesina, President Buhari joined the teeming fans of the two Nigerian artistes all over the world to celebrate the highly deserved and meritorious recognition.
The President also said that both singers have showcased the rich talents in the country, adding that they brought pride to the nation through their many songs and performances. He commended their dedication, hard work and charity works.
President Buhari further called on the upwardly mobile artistes to be cautious and mindful of likely distractions to their careers, urging WizKid and Davido to serve as ambassadors of the country and role models to upcoming musicians.
In the same vein, the Vice President, who was full of praise for their talent, entrepreneurship and hardwork, also commended them for making Nigerians proud.

Wizkid won the Best International Act, while Davido won the Best African Act at the 22nd edition of MOBO Award on Wednesday night at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, United Kingdom.
Wizkid defeated American rapper Jay-Z, Drake, SZA, Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar and other famous international artistes to clinch the highly coveted trophy.
