Samsung Chairman Jay Y. Lee Sentence To Five Years In Prison
Samsung’s heir apparent Jay Y. Lee (also known as Lee Jae-yong) has been jailed for five years on charges ranging from bribery to perjury.
He denies all the charges brought as part of the scandal that saw the impeachment of South Korea’s former President, and which has gripped the nation and whipped up anger against the country’s chaebols, its biggest companies.
By some measures, Jay Y. Lee got off lightly at sentencing: he faced a maximum of 12 years in jail.

At least Lee Jae-yong wan't sharing classified information with a shaman or rigging elections. South Korea is such a corrupt country.— JakeOrleans (@JackduORleans) August 25, 2017
